Angry Birds Trilogy flies onto Nintendo Wii and Wii U later this year

Updated

Angry Birds is available in one form or another on most major platforms, from iPhones and Androids to Xbox 360's, and later this year, the Angry Birds (and pigs) will make an appearance on Nintendo Wii and Wii U via the release of Angry Birds Trilogy.

Angry Birds Trilogy contains levels from the original Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, and Angry Birds Rio, along with new levels that are only available in this "Angry Birds Trilogy" package. Altogether, Angry Birds Trilogy contains over 700 levels that Rovio and Activision claim can last the average player over 50 hours.

"It was certainly satisfying to see Angry Birds gameplay adapt so well to other platforms in 2012," said Petri Järvilehto, EVP of Games for Rovio, via a company release. "The features specific to the Wii U are very intriguing to us, so we're excited to release this version to fans."

Once more details surrounding the specific features of the Wii U version of the game are released, we'll make sure to let you know.
