Tech Data Achieves Build and Configure to Order Certification for Cisco UCS C-Series
MISSISSAUGA, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Tech Data Canada, a leading distributor of IT products, logistics management and other value added services, today announced it has achieved high level certification for build-to-order and configure-to-order Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) C-Series rack servers, in addition to the services offered around increased system engineering support, forecasting and stocking capabilities, and customizable enablement programs.
"This level of authorization will enable us to significantly reduce the prerequisite lead time and increase our reseller partners' competitive advantage to win deals," said Greg Myers, Vice President, Marketing at Tech Data Canada. A typical C-Series configuration would take 21 days but Tech Data is able to reduce turnaround time to 72 hours or less.
Resellers can benefit from Tech Data's reduced lead time, data centre certification and authorization enablement, as well as enhanced system engineering support.
"Partners can now take advantage of Tech Data's ISO 9001:2008 integration centre to provide fully configured Cisco rack mount server technology. Partners can choose to have a complete solution delivered to them or to their customer, at a fraction of the cost and in 85% less time," said Todd Madgett, Director, Distribution Sales for Cisco Canada.
The addition of the Cisco UCS C-Series Authorized Configurator certification to Tech Data's existing capabilities provides Tech Data with the ability to add additional components to pre-configured C-Series bundles or build C-Series servers up from the bare chassis.
"We are now able to offer the complete Cisco solution to meet the end-customers' unique requirements. This provides more choice for resellers in how they deliver unified data centre solutions," Myers explained.
Tech Data received its BTO and CTO certification after successfully completing a series of Cisco UCS C-Series training, testing and dual audit processes.
Currently, Tech Data is assisting hundreds of partners via the Advanced Technology Solution Centre (ATSC), a demo lab where resellers can test the Cisco UCS C-Series platform and its benefits, as well as the Configuration Centre to accelerate their UCS practice to market.
