NTRR: PurTeq Antimicrobial Coatings Could Help Prevent Future Flu Epidemics

TAMPA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Revolutionary technology owned by Neutra Corp.'s (OTCBB: NTRR) new partner, Purlife, holds the potential to help eliminate disease epidemics such as the flu outbreak that has hit North America hard in early 2013.

In the U.S., the flu epidemic has reached all 50 states, with 47 states reporting "widespread" activity. Flu season slammed into the East Coast in December, nearly a month ahead of schedule. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), some areas of the country continue to see increases in the number of new flu cases.

The major strain circulating the country this season, H3N2, appears to many to be causing more severe illness, particularly in children and the elderly. So far, 59 children have died as a result of the flu this season.

Through its option agreement with Purlife, NTRR is working on a solution to future outbreaks. Purlife is the exclusive Canadian distributor of a patent-pending, water-based solution known as PurTeq, which forms an invisible, long-lasting coating that actively protects surfaces from the buildup of bacteria, germs, molds and allergens. Without the use of harmful chemicals, PurTeq also works rapidly and effectively to naturally decompose odors such as smoke and pet smells.

PurTeq can be applied to almost any surface, opening up potentially lucrative new possibilities to create "beyond clean" environments in hospitals, airlines, schools and other public spaces.
