Apple Reduces Prices of Various MacBooks, Boosts Processors

Updated

In a slight product update this morning, Apple announced that it is updating the processors and prices of various MacBook models.

The entry-level 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display received a price cut of $200, bringing it to $1,499, while the higher-end version now features a 2.6 GHz processor and 256 GB of flash storage for $1,699.

Those new price points compare to the previous ones of $1,699 and $1,999, respectively, and the higher-end model previously had a slightly slower processor. The larger 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display has seen both standard configurations receive processor upgrades to new quad-core chips, with no change in price.

The 13-inch MacBook Air with 256 GB of flash storage is getting a price reduction to $1,399.
