Let the electricity flow through your fingers in Dr. Jolt on iOS

Updated

With the sheer amount of iOS puzzle games released each month, it takes something pretty special to make us take a second look. Side-Kick Game's Dr. Jolt just might be one of those special games, as it allows you to control electricity with your fingertips as you help a brilliant scientist create contraptions containing lightbulbs, wires and much more.

In each of Dr. Jolt's 50 levels, you'll use Dr. Jolt's special "electricity liquid" to bring light to bulbs using nodes or relays that might be stationary, rotatable, or completely moveable. By tapping and holding your finger on the screen, you'll guide the light around barriers, launch lasers and create light shows as your work comes to life. While that may sound simple, it looks like each level will only give you a limited amount of the electricity liquid, bringing in the true puzzle and strategic mechanics to each stage.

"Dr. Jolt is a pick-up and play puzzle game for all ages," said Guy Bendov, CEO of Side-Kick Games, via a company release. "We've built a very fun and engaging game that people will want to play to the end and already have new levels in the works as we put the finishing touches on our first full game for mobile devices."

As you complete each stage, the layout of the next becomes more complex, with items like lightning rods, focus beams, light detectors and more being added into the mix. The game is technically free to play, so we'll make sure to bring you a complete look at the game when it launches later this month. For now, check out the trailer and screenshots here for more info.
