Cleveland HeartLab on Tour in Nashville to Bring Exclusive - 'IT' - Inflammation Testing to Attendees at the 2013 Country Radio Seminar

CHL to Provide Inflammation Testing at CRS as Part of American Heart Month

CLEVELAND--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Cleveland HeartLab (CHL), an advanced clinical laboratory focused on heart inflammation testing, is going on the road to provide the company's innovative "IT" inflammation tests for attendees at the 2013 Country Radio Seminar (CRS) in Nashville. CRS 2013 takes place February 27 to March 1.

CHL's "Show Your Heart Some Love" tour, in recognition of American Heart Month, will arrive in Nashville to deliver individual inflammation testing - called "IT" - for up to 500 CRS attendees. CHL's inflammation profile, based on the creation of novel molecular biomarkers, is fast and easy (no preparation required) and provides important, personal insight into cardiovascular health.

"Cleveland's "IT" group of tests is a highly effective method to define risk for heart attack and stroke," said Jake Orville, president and chief executive of CHL. "CRS provides a very timely platform to further CHL's leadership in furthering heart health and disease prevention."

According to the American Heart Association, approximately 50 percent of all people who experience heart attack or stroke have normal cholesterol levels. CHL's state-of-the-art set of "IT" inflammation tests identify a set of six biomarkers that detect inflammation and define the risk of heart attack and stroke.

"While heart disease is the #1 killer of men and women in the U.S., the good news is that it's largely preventable," added Marc Penn, MD, FACC, PhD and CHL's chief medical officer. "We know that strokes and heart attacks happen because of inflammation in the arteries. We now have the technology to detect those patients with arterial inflammation and the ability, with aggressive treatment, to prevent the acute heart attacks from occurring."

CRS is the Nashville-based annual convention that brings together nearly 1,000 Country Radio and Music Industry professionals for three days of "growth through sharing." CRS aims to educate business leaders and promote the exchange of ideas, with specific emphasis on issues relevant to Country Radio today.

"In the music business, we often say 'it's all about the song,' but in this case 'it's all about the heart,'" commented CRS President Mike Culotta. "So it should be easy enough for us to grasp the concept of 'heart health' whether we're together at CRS or engaging with millions of country music fans every day. The fact is, all the talent in the world doesn't mean a thing without a healthy heart, so join us at CRS, show your heart some love and get your 'IT'!"

CHL's screening suite at CRS will be located in the Central Ballroom on the Pedway, between the Nashville Convention Center and the Renaissance Hotel. Testing will take place Wednesday (February 27) and Thursday (February 28) from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Each CRS participant will be able to securely check his or her test results online and follow up directly with their personal physician, as desired.

On Friday, March 1 at 3 p.m., a brief presentation summarizing collective test results from the CRS attendees who participated in the "IT" testing, will be delivered by CHL's Dr. Marc Penn. The presentation will identify what the data detects and defines for the CRS "IT" testing participants.
