Transcat Expands Torque Calibration Capabilities

ROCHESTER, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Transcat, Inc. (NAS: TRNS) ("Transcat" or the "Company"), a leading distributor of professional grade handheld test, measurement and control instruments and accredited provider of calibration, repair, inspection and other compliance services, announced it has expanded its torque calibration capabilities with the acquisition of an additional calibration system for its Lincoln, Montana calibration laboratory.

The new equipment increases the service capabilities of Transcat's national laboratory network. With this purchase, torque instrumentation users can source and calibrate hydraulic torque equipment with a single source. Customers can now rely on Transcat's full range of torque calibration services for the life of their hydraulic torque wrenches and torque multipliers.

Transcat is also now one of a select few calibration service providers with the ability to service and repair hydraulic pumps within the wind, oil and gas, transportation, construction industries, or in any other industry with high- or low-torque requirements.

The new system allows the Company to calibrate output torque in the range between 271 and 27,000 newton meters (200 and 20,000 foot pounds) and input torque in the range between 68 and 1,625 newton meters (50 and 1,200 foot pounds). Transcat can service products from hydraulic torque manufacturers such as Plarad, TorcUp, HYTORC, Titan, ENERPAC and Power Team SPX.

Using Transcat's CalTrak® Online calibration management system, customer can track equipment performance over time, giving customers necessary information for pertinent business decisions.
