MWV Healthcare to Discuss Developments in Preservative-Free Medication Dispensing at Pharmapack in Paris

Research shows that physicians and patients prefer preservative-free medications

RICHMOND, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- MeadWestvaco Corporation (NYSE: MWV), a global leader in packaging and packaging solutions, will discuss preservative-free medication dispensing at Pharmapack Europe, Paris, on 14 February at 09:55 CET. The presentation by Giorgio Osele, director, European Sales, Medical Plastics Division, MWV Healthcare, will include proprietary research demonstrating that both physicians and patients prefer preservative-free medication dispensing options. Osele will also review how increasingly sophisticated delivery solutions have enabled a growing trend of preservative-free formulations for prescription and over-the-counter nasal, topical and ophthalmic medications.

Earlier this month, MWV announced a $7.5 million expansion of its global pharmaceutical dispensing systems manufacturing Centre of Excellence in Hemer, Germany. The investment demonstrates the company's continued commitment to innovating preservative-free dispensing solutions.

A second Pharmapack presentation, to be held at the MWV booth (#158), will discuss the use of "smart" (electronic event monitoring) packaging - a proven and reliable technique for analyzing patient adherence - in clinical trials. The presentation by John Musaus, global head, Electronic Adherence Solutions, MWV Healthcare, will highlight clinical trial patient data collected via smart packaging and how the data revealed opportunities to improve adherence. Key learnings from smart packaging use cases in both clinical development and post-approval applications will also be shared. This presentation will take place on 14 February at 9:55 CET.

Pharmapack Europe will be held 13-14 February in Paris at the Grande Halle de la Villette. MWV Healthcare will be at Stand 158.
