"Save Splash" Computer Game Raises Kid's Water Conservation Awareness

New Jersey American Water's Computer Game
- No Zombies, Explosions or Car Crashes, Just "Clean" Fun

VOORHEES, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The latest game on the Web doesn't feature zombies, explosions or car crashes, just a young girl trying to save her community's water one drop at a time. "Save Splash the Raindrop" was launched by New Jersey American Water to make kids more aware of the need for us all to be more water conservation minded. The game, which can be found at www.savesplash.com, allows players to move a young girl in rain gear back and forth across the screen, catching Splash the Waterdrop as he falls out of the clouds at different intervals and speeds. At the conclusion of each of the game's three levels, players may print a certificate naming them a "water conservation hero."

"While we do a lot to educate our customers about the importance of conserving water, we know that these attitudes and behaviors about our environment form when we are children," said the company's Vice President for Operations Stephen Schmitt. "Our Save Splash the Raindrop game encourages kids to save water and have some fun at the same time."

New Jersey American Water, a wholly owned subsidiary of American Water (NYS: AWK) , is the largest investor-owned water utility in the state, providing high-quality and reliable water and/or wastewater services to approximately 2.5 million people.
