TranSwitch's TXC-44144 Transceiver Enables Users of Edge I&D's Interactive Products to Easily Connect HDMI and DisplayPort Devices
SHELTON, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- TranSwitch Corporation (NASDAQ: TXCC), a leading provider of semiconductor solutions in the rapidly growing consumer electronics and telecommunications markets, today announced that the Company's HDplay™ transceiver has been designed into Edge I&D's new Interactive LED-LCD Display Whiteboards. The interactive whiteboard models, using TXC-44144 HDplay transceivers, will be available in displays ranging in size up to 84 inches and can support 4Kx2K video resolution. Edge I&D is a Korea-based ODM for interactive education tools and commercial multimedia applications, including interactive whiteboards which display video using a large screen, enabling a user to annotate and manipulate presentations in real time using touch screen technology.
According to a new report by Global Industry Analysts, Inc., global sales of interactive whiteboards are expected to reach US $1.85 Billion by 2018. The source devices for interactive whiteboards are expected to increasingly feature both HDMI® and DisplayPort™ connectivity. TranSwitch's HDplay transceivers are optimized to support these trends by combining both HDMI and DisplayPort standards, as well as utilizing the Company's patented AnyCable™ technology to maintain high definition video performance over long cable runs.
