Indian Motorcycle Rumbles into Chicago for the Next Stop on 2013 International Motorcycle Show Tour

Company Highlights Historic Sights and Sounds from the Past, Custom Sound Booth Featuring Thunderous Rumble of Upcoming New Indian Motorcycle Engine, and Exciting new Mobile App

MEDINA, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Indian Motorcycle, the original American motorcycle company, today announced its participation at the International Motorcycle Show in Chicago taking place February 8-11 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center. Representatives from Indian Motorcycle will be on-hand throughout the weekend to showcase an array of historic vintage Indian motorcycles and military vehicles along with the 2013 lineup of Indian Motorcycle models. The display includes the recently announced Indian Chief Vintage Final Edition, which commemorates the previous era of Indian Motorcycle and marks the start of an all-new era under the leadership of Polaris Industries. The display also features a powerful custom sound booth experience, allowing motorcycle fans to get up close and personal with the awesome rumbling power of the upcoming, completely redesigned Indian Motorcycle engine.

"We're excited to be in Chicago this weekend sharing a collection of rare, historic bikes with loyal Midwestern fans of the Indian Motorcycle brand, while we give everyone a taste of the new, completely redesigned Indian Motorcycle coming later this year with our incredible custom sound booth experience," said Polaris Vice President of Motorcycles, Steve Menneto. "We're on track to make history later this year with one of the most significant launches in motorcycling history, and we are set to reveal the new engine next month at Daytona Bike Week, so Chicagoans will want to swing by our exhibit this weekend and be a part of history in the making."

Indian Motorcycle staff will also be promoting the newly updated "Indian Rides" app, which now features the rumbling sound of the upcoming engine, including an interactive graphical image of a motorcycle throttle and starter switch, allowing users to simulate starting the historic new engine. The updated app is free of charge and is available for download effective immediately by visiting the following links: Indian Rides for Android; Indian Rides for iOS/iPhone.

The "Indian Motorcycle Experience" exhibit includes some of the brand's most important vintage bikes and military vehicles, including a 1942 Indian Model 741B Army model along with the fully restored 1935 Indian Chief recently featured on the HISTORY Channel's "American Pickers" series. The company will also showcase an exact replica of the Floyd Emde Indian "Big Base" Scout that famously rode to victory in the 1948 Daytona 200 beach race. The roar of this legendary bike will reverberate throughout the convention hall as this extremely rare motorcycle will be started up several times over the weekend (Friday - 6:30 p.m., Saturday - 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., Sunday - 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.).
