Washington Post Selling Washington State Papers

On Wednesday, Washington Postannounced that it has agreed to sell the Everett, Wash.-based daily The Herald, along with Seattle paper La Raza del Noroeste, and "its other other print and online products" to Canadian newspaper concern Black Press Ltd. and its Sound Publishing subsidiary.

Sound Publishing is the largest community media organization in Washington state, publishing 39 newspaper titles, and having a combined circulation of 732,700.

The sale is expected to close in early March. Financial terms were not disclosed.
