Madison Square Garden Crushes Earnings Estimates
Madison Square Garden (NAS: MSG) reported earnings on Feb. 6. Here are the numbers you need to know.

Compared to the prior-year quarter, revenue expanded and GAAP earnings per share grew significantly.

EPS came in at $0.60. The eight earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ averaged $0.36 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.60 for Q2 were 82% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.33 per share.

For the quarter, gross margin was 100.0%, 6,030 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 20.9%, 720 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 12.1%, 520 basis points better than the prior-year quarter.
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $406.8 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.33.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $1.32 billion. The average EPS estimate is $1.22.
The stock has a three-star rating (out of five) at Motley Fool CAPS, with 99 members out of 109 rating the stock outperform, and 10 members rating it underperform.
