Lime Energy helps Central Hudson Gas & Electric exceed 2012 goal
Energy Efficient Facility Upgrades provided for nearly 1,000 Hudson Valley small businesses
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Lime Energy Co. (NAS: LIME) announced today they have saved businesses more than 13,600 megawatt-hours through Central Hudson Gas & Electric's Small and Mid-Sized Business Direct Install Programs, with an additional 5,000 megawatt-hours committed for installation. As the exclusive provider for these programs, Lime Energy provides energy-efficient lighting facility upgrades for business customers throughout Central Hudson's service territory, located in the Mid-Hudson Valley region of New York State. Lime Energy is poised to deliver an additional 58,000 megawatt hours over the remaining course of their four-year contract.
Central Hudson's Direct Install Programs serve small- and medium-sized commercial customers as well as municipalities, providing incentives that cover up to 70 percent of the cost of implementing these energy efficiency projects. To date, Central Hudson has provided more than $3 million in incentives to help nearly 1,000 businesses upgrade to energy-efficient lighting, resulting in lower energy usage and improved lighting quality. In addition, these businesses also lowered their operating and maintenance costs.
