Capstone Companies Commissions AC Kinetics to Further Develop New Product Ideas for its Power Failure Solutions Program

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Capstone Companies, Inc. (OTCQB: CAPC), a leader in the design and manufacture of specialty power failure lighting solutions and innovator of consumer safety and security products for the Hospitality, Retail and Institutional channels, announced today that it has commissioned AC Kinetics, a proprietor of nonlinear optimization and breakthrough control technologies that enhance the efficiency, performance and productivity of electromechanical systems, to mature new product ideas to expand its existing Power Failure Solutions program for its wholly-owned subsidiary, Capstone Industries, Inc.

AC Kinetics, Inc. will be introducing its first green AC Induction Motor control algorithms that simultaneously reduce energy consumption and increase motor performance at the ARPA-e show February 25-27 in Washington D.C. The team's first motor control technology, which also reduces vibrations and acoustics, was invented in 1990 and patented by MIT. That same technology is on hundreds of millions of motor-powered machines worldwide, ranging from larger cranes to computer disk drives. Capstone is looking to apply that high level of expertise into new models, adding even more substance to its current product lines.

"We have developed several algorithms for electric motor control that reduce energy consumption by 10% to 40%, while simultaneously improving motor performance," explains Dr. Neil Singer, president of AC Kinetics, Inc. "We are looking forward to employing some of those familiar concepts and delivering technologically advanced solutions to further develop Capstone's current product offerings."

Capstone's current Power Failure Solutions program includes several stylish and highly functional products in a variety of designs and colors. All items turn on automatically when the power goes out, while plugged into an electrical outlet. They also present additional applications and can be used as nightlights, flashlights, accent lights, work lights and headlights.

Reid Goldstein, President of Capstone Industries, said, "A recent report shows that 500,000 Americans lose power daily for about 2 hours. Every household and every establishment should be concerned with personal safety and make sure at least one power failure light is available in every room. We believe the improvements proposed by AC Kinetics will help us make that a reality in the U.S."
