Aeropostale President to Retire

On Tuesday, Aeropostaleannounced that company President Michael Cunningham will retire from his post effective March 29. Cunningham is expected to remain on the Board of Directors, however.

No replacement for Cunningham was named. Instead, Aeropostale advised that company Chief Executive Officer Thomas P. Johnson will be taking over Cunningham's responsibility for information technology at the retailer. Chief Financial Officer Marc D. Miller will take over the duties of planning and allocation, and Executive Vice President for Customer Engagement Mary Jo Pile will be responsible for construction, logistics, and real estate.

Aeropostale shares closed up 3.1% Tuesday before the announcement, at $13.57.
