Saia's Earnings Beat Last Year's by 120%

EPS came in at $0.33. The eight earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.32 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.33 for Q4 were 120% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.15 per share.

For the quarter, gross margin was 11.9%, 170 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 3.8%, 140 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 2.0%, 100 basis points better than the prior-year quarter.
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $273.5 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.37.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $1.14 billion. The average EPS estimate is $2.27.
The stock has a five-star rating (out of five) at Motley Fool CAPS, with 103 members out of 114 rating the stock outperform, and 11 members rating it underperform.
