Amazon Offers Discount on 8.9-Inch Kindle Fire HDs
E-tail giant Amazon.com has temporarily lowered the price of its 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD tablet. The company is offering a $30 discount on the Wi-Fi-only model and a $50 discount on the 4G LTE models.
The promotion is only available until Feb. 8, and while supplies last, but could indicate that the company needs to clear out inventory if sales were not as strong as expected. The smaller 7-inch model continues to sell well at the $199 price, with Amazon recently saying it was the No. 1 selling gift over the holidays without disclosing unit figures.
The discount brings the price of the 8.9-inch Wi-Fi model from $299 to $269, and the 8.9-inch 4G LTE model from $499 to $449.
