MoSys Beats on Q4 Revenue, but Net Lags

MoSys reported Q4 and 2012 results today. For the quarter, the firm's net revenue was $1.6 million, significantly lower than the $5.2 million of Q4 2011, but higher than analyst expectations of around $1.4 million. Bottom line was a loss of $6.7 million ($0.17 per share) on a non-GAAP basis, against a profit of $31.7 million ($0.80) in the year-ago quarter. Analysts had anticipated a loss of $0.15 per share for the period.

For the full year, MoSys posted $6.1 million in revenue. This was less than half of 2011's top line of $14.1 million. Net loss was $27.6 million ($0.70 per share), against the prior year's profit of $11.3 million ($0.28).
