In an update on The Blockheads forums (spotted by Pocket Gamer), developer David Frampton has revealed that the blockbuster free-to-play game has now been downloaded 3.5 million times since launch earlier this month.


A recent update tweaked a few bugs in The Blockheads, but since then Frampton's been cooking up a few new treats for fans of the world-building game. The new content update is due to be released in the next two weeks, and will introduce a

compost block that allows plants and trees to grow faster, a kelp plant that grows in water, and waterproof lanterns crafted from steel and glass instead of clay. Players can also look forward to a new block type, although details are currently under wraps.
