FrontierVille creator Brian Reynolds says goodbye to Zynga

Updated

Most recently known for his work on CityVille 2, Zynga's Brian Reynolds is officially leaving the company, according to a report by Polygon. The company's chief game designer and creator of FrontierVille (now Pioneer Trail) worked on CityVille 2 at Zynga Baltimore, and while there's no news as to what the future holds for Reynolds, his soon-to-be former employer offers up some high praise.

"Brian has a long history in the game industry and has been a great partner to the creative leaders at Zynga," Steve Chiang, President of Games, told Polygon. "I want to thank him for his leadership of the Zynga Baltimore studio in the design and development of FrontierVille, which brought many innovations to social gaming. We appreciate Brian's contribution and we're proud of the deep bench of creative leaders who are leading the next wave of game innovation at Zynga. We wish Brian the best in his next chapter."

Is Reynolds just the beginning of another long list of developers or managers that will leave Zynga in 2013? Only time will tell.
