Legoland Hotel in California, Country's First, Will Spark Your Childhood Imagination

Anyone who either has a child or acts like a child probably knows that Legoland is the place to let youthful imaginations run wild. Sky-high sculptures and mini-cities made of Legos intertwine with theme-park rides and water slides at the Legoland parks in California and Florida. "I wish I could stay here forever," parents have most likely heard their wide-eyed kids say of the Lego motherland. Well, starting in April, they can at least stay overnight -- in the country's first Lego hotel.

The Legoland Hotel plans to open at the Carlsbad, Calif., park on April 5, 2013. It'll have 250 rooms splashed with color and embodying certain themes, such as ancient Egypt, pirates and castles. And, of course, there will be plenty of Legos: 3,500 Lego models and "interactive areas" will be housed in the hotel, manager Frank Idris told adventure blog Behind The Thrills. Sculptures made of Legos will adorn bedrooms and bathrooms. (We spotted Lego scorpions crawling up bathroom walls, as well as Lego parrots and owls perched in bedroom corners in the photos below.)

On the Legoland Hotel booking website, we looked up the cost of a room for one adult and one child, and it started at $233 with a AAA discount and $259 without the discount.
