LIN Media Names Broadcast Veteran Les Vann As President and General Manager of WJCL-TV and WTGS-TV in Savannah, GA

PROVIDENCE, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- LIN TV Corp. ("LIN Media"; NYSE: TVL), a local multimedia company, announced today that Les Vann has been named President and General Manager of WJCL-TV and WTGS-TV in Savannah, GA.

Mr. Vann is a veteran broadcast executive with nearly 20 years of television station management experience. He joins LIN Media after having spent the last five years as the Vice-President and General Manager of WKRC-TV and Local 12.2 in Cincinnati, the 35th largest television market in the U.S. During his tenure, WKRC-TV was a ratings leader, grew market revenue share and outperformed market revenue growth. Prior to that role, he managed television stations in Illinois, Iowa, North Carolina, South Carolina, and New York.


Mr. Vann will report to Scott Blumenthal, LIN Media's Executive Vice President Television. Mr. Vann is committed to civic involvement and has been active in every community in which he has lived since he launched his broadcasting career in 1977. He served on numerous non-profit boards, including the Urban League and The Neediest Kids of All, was President of three Parent Teacher Associations in Illinois, coached youth baseball, soccer and basketball, as well as served as Commissioner for a youth baseball league. Most recently, he was honored with the 2012 Silver Hope Award at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Ohio Valley Chapter's Dinner of Champions for his contributions to the Cincinnati community.

Mr. Vann received his Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication from Illinois State University and also attended the Broadcasters Executive Training program at the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University. He will reside in Savannah, GA with Shannon Vann, his wife of 34 years.
