2013 Ford Fusion, Fusion Hybrid Score Top Safety Ratings

Updated

The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) has awarded a five-star safety rating to Ford's 2013 Fusion and Fusion Hybrid in New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) testing that looked at the vehicles' performance in front and side-impact crash tests and their resistance to rollover, the automaker announced today.

This follows 2013 Fusion recalls in the past couple of months over headlight issues and the possibility of engine fires.

Ford also highlighted in today's press release that the 2013 Fusion was named a Top Safety Pick+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety in December, the group's highest safety rating.

Steve Kenner, global director of Ford's Automotive Safety Office, was quoted in the release as saying, "The Fusion and Fusion Hybrid exemplify the new face of Ford vehicles and demonstrate Ford's commitment to safety in all its vehicles across the globe."
