CastleVille 'Operation Hibernation' Quests: Everything you need to know
Winter equals hibernation for CastleVille's friendly giant Ben, who actually completely forget to prepare. You'll need to partner with Alistair to help the big man make the preparations for his hibernation via a series of seven new quests called " Operation Hibernation." We're here with a complete guide to finishing these quests, thanks to Zynga. Let's get started!

The base of the Hibernation Den doesn't need to be constructed, so you can easily finish this quest in a matter of minutes. You'll receive 2,000 coins and 40 XP when you finish it off.
A Torchy Subject

Tend 3 Cows
While this quest series deals with getting Ben to sleep, it also introduces more torches to the game, starting with these Bountiful Harvest Torches. A single Torch can be made inside the Magic Torch Shop using two Conjurer's Composts, four Geodes, three Yellow Feathers and two Pails of Water. The Composts are earned via a general news post on your wall, while the Geodes and Feathers can be earned through individual requests sent to friends. A single torch takes just five seconds to craft. As for the Blackout Curtains, these too are earned through a general news post placed on your wall. You'll receive another 2,000 coins and 40 XP for completing this quest.

Craft 2 Crop Preserves Jars
Place 4 Bountiful Harvest Torches
You can work on the Hibernation Den from the second you place it in the first quest above, but you'll only actually need to finish it now. It requires 20 Winter Vittles, three Mortar and eight Wood Planks to complete. The Mortar and Wood Planks must be crafted or purchased with Crowns, while the Winter Vittles are earned by using those Bountiful Harvest Torches. You'll need to place these Torches next to crops, and then harvest them to have a chance for Winter Vittles. As for the Crop Preserves Jars, you'll need items like Sugar, Pumpkins and Glass to finish them off. You'll receive yet another 2,000 coins and 40 XP for completing this quest.

Collect 5 Giant Earplugs
Gather 20 Winter Vittles
Craft 2 Hibernation Blankets
Even though you've already worked on Ben's Hibernation Den, you'll still need to collect more Winter Vittles to simply complete this quest, which means eventually crafting more Bountiful Harvest Torches. While you're working on those, make sure to post a general news post to your wall for the Giant Earplugs, so your friends can be sending you those while you work on something else. That "something else" could be the Hibernation Blankets, which each require three "Giant Sized Threads," five Cotton, 10 Wool and five Gloom Wolf Hairs to craft. The Giant Sized Threads can be earned by posting a general news post to your wall. After you've finished this quest, you'll receive - you guessed it - 2,000 coins and 40 XP.

Craft 2 Winter Food Shelves
Apparently Alistair's preparation attempts worked too well, and you've gathered too many materials for Ben. You'll need to expand his home to continue, using 35 Winter Vittles, four Steel Bars, eight Burrow Shovels and 10 Amber. The Shovels can be earned through a general news post on your wall, while the Steel Bars must be crafted. You can ask your friends for the Amber directly to save some time in the long run, but again, you'll need Bountiful Harvest Torches to earn the Winter Vittles from crops. Finally, the Winter Food Shelves can be crafted using one Crop Preserve Jar, five Wood Planks, five Steel Studs, and two Extra Tall Supports. After you complete this quest, you'll receive another 2,000 coins and 40 XP.

Craft 4 Hibernation Beds
The Hibernation Beds are crafted in the Studio using two Giant Sized Pillows, one Hibernation Blanket, two Iron Bars and five Down Feathers. Meanwhile, the Goats can be purchased for 2,500 coins in the store. You'll receive another 2,000 coins and 40 XP for completing this quest.
The Big Sleep
Upgrade Ben's Hibernation Den Again
Craft 5 Immortal Tree Torches
Place 5 Bountiful Harvest Torches
The Immortal Tree Torches can be placed near trees to make them invincible, but they require crafting first. You'll need to collect two Thaumaturge's Timber, four Green Feathers, three Clay and five Beeswax to create a single Immortal Tree Torch, with the Timber coming from a general news item on your wall. While you're waiting for those items to arrive, you can work on the final upgrade to Ben's Hibernation Den. This requires 50 more Winter Vittles, 15 Fire, 10 Extra Tall Supports and three Engraving Tools to complete. You'll earn the Fire via individual requests sent to friends, while the Extra Tall Supports are earned via a general news item posted on your wall.
Finishing this final quest not only secures Ben and his family a place to hibernate for the rest of the winter, but you'll also receive 2,000 coins, 40 XP and a Mystery Crate for all of your hard work.
