You're on the run from a big nasty monster in Temple Run 2, the thrilling sequel to Imangi Studios' fast-paced action game. Although the controls are easy to get the hang of, the developers littered the environment with a variety of obstacles designed to make your character die a nasty death. That said, you have two choices: croak and restart, or follow our advice and live much longer, before dying eventually. It's the Temple Run 2 cheats and tips guide. Cherish it.

Collect Green Gems Whenever Possible
You need these exotic gems to restart, should you meet an untimely demise. If you see one suspended in mid-air, grab that sucker immediately, as they're quite hard to come by.

Tip: Complete objectives to level up. Doing so earns rewards and lets you gain access to new power-ups.

Stuff Your Virtual Pockets With Coins
During your travels, you'll see a mess of gold coins. It should go without saying, but pick up as many as you can. You'll need them later.

Don't Get Distracted By The Scenery
Within the first minute or so, you'll come upon this huge stone structure suspended in mid-air. Don't jump into it expecting to latch onto something. It's a trap that'll send your hero plummeting to his or her doom. Instead, swipe left or right to make a turn.

Master The Mine Cart
While exploring the mines, the track will split several times, forcing you to make the all important decision of right or left. Just make sure you check out where each path leads beforehand. Otherwise, you'll crash into some rocks.

Tip: Tilt your device to shift the cart in the desired direction.

Use Power-Ups Whenever Possible
Hey, we get it. Some people want to play Temple Run 2 the natural way, without the help of power-ups. There's something honorable about that. We, on the other hand, will take whatever Imangi gives us.

  • Shield: Helps protect you from obstacles.

  • Coin Bonus: Instant 50 coin bonus. Buy Barry Bones to unlock.

  • Boost: Engages Boost instantly. Buy Scarlett Fox to unlock.

  • Score Bonus: Instant 500 point bonus. Buy Karma Lee to unlock.

  • Coin Magnet: Engages Coin Magnet instantly. Requires Level five.

  • Gem Bonus: Instant two gem bonus. Requires Level 10.



Upgrade Your Abilities
Temple Run 2 becomes significantly more rewarding if you spend coins to upgrade the game's different abilities. Each can be upgraded up to six times and grow progressively more expensive. So don't be afraid to spend that cash to increase Shield Duration, Boost Distance, Head Start and Score Multiplier, to name a few.

Spend Money On Coin And Gem Packs
Play Temple Run 2 long enough, and you'll eventually have a decent number of coins and gems, but it's still a grind. Parting with some cash will help speed up the process.
