ChefVille 'Homesick Hans' Quests: Everything you need to know

Updated

While ChefVille may have suffered from some technical issues earlier in the week, Zynga is pulling full steam ahead now with the launch of a massive German food event in the game, complete with a new character: Hans. Hans misses the tastes of home, and it's up to you to start offering some German flavors to help him out. There are two new quest series to complete in this event thus far, and we're here with a complete guide to the timed trio, Homesick Hans, to get you started.

Taste of Germany

  • Serve 3 The Carter's Roasts

  • Give 6 Chef's Services with Cabbage Rolls

  • Find 10 Green Cabbages in the Cabbage Patch

The Green Cabbages can be found inside the Cabbage Patch, which is available to purchase for 4,000 coins in the store. It takes three energy to unwrap, and from there, you'll need to collect five Redwood Slats and six Silty Soil to finish it off. The Redwood Slats can be earned by sending out individual requests to neighbors, while the Silty Soil can be earned through a general news post on your wall. When this Cabbage Patch is finished, you can collect either a Red or Green Cabbage from the item as often as you'd like, so long as you have the energy to actually keep collecting.

You'll need a lot of Cabbage to prepare the two themed dishes in this quest, as The Carter's Roast is a dish that requires three Chuck Beef, two Red Cabbages, and one Carrot to cook. It takes six hours to prepare inside the Hofbrau Skillet. Meanwhile, the Cabbage Rolls require four Chuck Beef, two Red Cabbages and one Salt to prepare. They take 12 hours to cook. If you're looking for more Chuck Beef, you're unfortunately on your own until you build the Butcher's Kiosk, which costs 5,000 coins in the store.

This additional building project requires three more energy to unwrap, along with seven staff members that can be earned by sending out individual requests to your friends for help. Thankfully, these staff requests don't interfere with building material requests, so you can send posts to friends you might have already asked for parts to build the Cabbage Patch without an issue. When you complete this first quest, you'll receive two Salt, one Red Cabbage and 15 XP.

Ready for Dinner

  • Tend 10 Wild Onions

  • Have 2 Mastery Stars on Cabbage Rolls

  • Ask for 9 Festival Flags

You'll need to ask your friends' help yet again as you try to earn the Festival Flags, but while you're waiting for those to arrive, you can keep cooking the Cabbage Rolls every 12 hours. Remember, if you want to finish this quest more quickly, you can use Spices to speed up the cooking of the Cabbage Rolls by a few hours or even to finish them instantly. After you finish this quest, you'll receive a Rapid Rosemary spice, nine Festival Flag decorations that can be used to decorate your land, and 15 XP.

No More! Nicht Mehr!

  • Earn 2 Mastery Stars on Carter's Roast

  • Cook 8 Times with Chuck Beef

  • Give Chef's Service 10 times with Gelbwurst

The Chuck Beef can be used in a variety of Hofbrau Skillet recipes, so if you're looking to earn all of the mastery stars in that appliance anyway, you'll have no problem cooking with Chuck Beef eight times in total. If you're running out of time to complete these quests, feel free to cook shorter cooking time dishes even after they've been completely mastered. You'll receive two Instant Thyme, two Cabbage and a limited edition decoration for finishing this final quest in the timed Homesick Hans series. Good luck! Play ChefVille on Zynga.com now >
