Encana CEO Retires

Updated

Encana President and CEO Randall Eresman has retired after 35 years with the company. He will remain at the company as an advisor until the end of February.

Eresman will be replaced in both positions on an interim basis by Clayton Woitas, a director at the firm. Woitas holds the same posts at Canada's Range Royalty Management.

Eresman is a 35-year veteran of Encana and its predecessor firm, Alberta Energy.

"Randy has played a key role in the development of Encana and in his more than three decades with the company, he has made many important contributions to the company's success," Ecana Chairman David O'Brien is quoted as saying in a company press release.
