Groupon Expands Into Mobile Payments

Groupon today announced its newest version of Groupon Merchants for Android (v2.2), which incorporates Groupon Payments to allow merchants to accept credit cards via smartphone.

Groupon touts Groupon Payments for Android devices as having easy access and the ability to add tip, apply taxes, process refunds, and email customer receipts. Merchants can access sales analytics and the app encrypts credit card information for security.
