IDC Appoints Former SIG Combibloc Executive to its Board of Directors
Tom Shaver Joins IDC Team
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- International Dispensing Corporation (IDC) (IDND), a leading food-and-beverage packaging innovator, announced today that Mr. Tom Shaver has joined its executive management team as a member of its Board of Directors and will help lead the company's marketing and business development activities. The addition of Mr. Shaver, coupled with the Company's newly appointed Industry Advisory Board consisting of William Hickey (CEO of Sealed Air Corporation), Markus Brettschneider (CEO of FrieslandCampina Germany), and Aaron Brody (CEO of Packaging/Brody, Inc.), brings to the Company world class expertise and improved operational efficiency.
A highly accomplished sales and marketing executive and successful entrepreneur, Mr. Shaver spent nearly seven years (2003-2010) at SIG Combibloc, Inc., one of the world's leading system suppliers of aseptic carton packaging and filling machines for beverages and food, with worldwide revenues of $1.9 billion. As Vice President of Marketing for North and Central America, Mr. Shaver developed the strategic roadmap and assisted sales teams in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico to produce record sales for North America. He was directly responsible for all SIG Combibloc global account management sales activities for Coca-Cola and PepsiCo, and executed multi-million dollar equipment and packaging contracts for several key accounts, including Unilever and Campbell's Soup Company. In addition, he was a Board Member of the Carton Council comprised of Tetra Pak, Elopak, Evergreen, and SIG Combibloc.
Prior to working for SIG Combibloc Mr. Shaver held managerial and business development positions at Red Bull Energy Drink, Vitality Foodservice, Dannon Yogurt, and Tone's Spices. Immediately prior to joining IDC, Mr. Shaver was the co-founder and President of BioBev, LLC, where he established a small team of industry experts to develop and market Sunkist Energy and Sunkist Protein under a trademark license agreement from Sunkist Growers, Inc. Mr. Shaver, 45, received a B.A. degree from the University of Florida and an MBA from the University of Tampa.
