CastleVille 'Sylphie and the Magic Tree' Quests: Everything you need to know

Updated

Another week means another new set of quests to complete in CastleVille, with this week's event seeing a return of the fairies to your game. Faugrimm has tried to destroy a set of magical old trees, and you'll need to help Sylphie bring them back to life via a set of seven quests in "Sylphie and the Magic Tree." This event starts simply, as so many do, but quickly becomes complicated. We've got a complete guide to finishing these quests to help you out, thanks to Zynga. Let's get started!

What Once Was Lost

  • Place the Seed Sprouter in your Kingdom

  • Plant your first Noble Tree

  • Collect 2 Cow Chips

The Seed Sprouter can be placed directly from this quest window. After it's placed, you'll be able to start growing multiple trees at once with the help of friends. If you're familiar with the way the Phoenix event worked, as an example, this Noble Tree event works in much the same way. Once you're ready to start a Noble Tree, you'll simply need to head into the Seed Sprouter menu and click on "Start." From there, you can start growing a tree on your own, or you can partner with a single friend to help it grow. You'll receive 1,000 coins and 20 XP for completing this goal.

One to Grow On

  • Collect 3 Celestial Rain

  • Craft 3 Magical Mulches

  • Spend the 3 Magical Mulches

The Celestial Rain is earned by posting a general request to your news feed. As for the Magical Mulches, these serve as the "food" for these Noble Trees, and they can be crafted using five Wood Logs, one Celestial Rain and three Cow Chips each. You can also earn the Cow Chips by posting a request to your news feed for help. Completing this quest gives you 1,500 coins and 30 XP.

A Guardian Element

  • Have at least one Guardian Tree and Elemental Tree

  • Collect 8 Fire or Ice Chunks

  • Fertilize Noble Trees six times

This event allows you to grow either Guardian Trees or Elemental Trees, with multiple kinds of trees being available as final products in each category. For instance, in the Guardian category, you can have a Guardian Bark Tree, a Guardian Spike Tree or a Guardian Rocky Tree. Obviously then, you'll need one of each of these trees growing on your land to complete this task, and you can freely have multiple trees of each kind growing at the same time. As for the Ice Chunks, you can earn these by tending icy objects within your Kingdom. Since you can have multiple trees growing at once, it doesn't matter which trees you feed, so long as you feed them six times in total to finish this quest. You'll receive 1,750 coins and 35 XP when you do.

Protect the Trees

  • Banish 2 Beasties

  • Craft 2 Flaming Swords

  • Craft 4 Magical Mulches

The Beastie can be in any variety, so feel free to lure out some Wolves by tending flowers or animals, or even use leftover potions in your inventory to lure out rats that can be quickly defeated. As for the Flaming Swords, these require Alchemist Powders, Amber, and more to craft. You'll receive another 1,750 coins and 35 XP for completing this quest.

Tree Hugger

  • Craft 2 Wood Balms

  • Fertilize 5 Noble Trees

  • Spend 25 Reputation Hearts

The Wood Balms are created using Amber, Yellow Feathers and more. The Reputation Hearts are earned by visiting friends, and can then be used to purchase a variety of items in the store, like Beastie potions that you can use to summon Beasties whenever you need them. If you used any potions to summon Beasties in the last quest, this one gives you the perfect excuse to refill your stockpile. You'll receive 1,750 coins and 35 XP for completing this quest.

Tree Whisperer

  • Have 5 Choir Music Books

  • Craft 3 Music Boxes

  • Have 1 Large Noble Tree or Higher

As you and your friends continue to grow trees, they'll go through stages, eventually reaching the "Large" stage. While you're working to grow your trees, you can post a general request for the Choir Music Book on your news feed. For the Music Boxes, these can be created using Aquamarine, Wood Planks, Buttons and more. For completing this quest, you'll receive 1,750 coins and 35 XP.

Sylphie's New Grove

  • Plant 1 New Noble Tree

  • Tend 5 Blossomed Noble Trees

  • Fertilize Noble Trees 7 Times

Seven days after you place them, your Noble Trees will "blossom" into their final forms. The more you've fertilized prior to this cutoff, the greater your rewards will be, unless you reach the maximum stage before the seven day period is up. At that point, your prizes will be the best they can be, but the seven day time limit won't apply. Remember, even if you've already started working on one or more Noble Trees, you can start another by simply heading into the Seed Sprouter and starting a tree, whether you have a friend helping you or not. You'll receive 1,750 coins, 35 XP and an Acorn Topiary for finishing this final quest in the series.
