Bigger iPhone? Cheaper iPhone? What Does Apple Have Up Its Sleeve?

Yesterday, DIGITIMES reported that Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) was looking at making a bigger, cheaper iPhone. As technology analyst Eric Bleeker notes in the video below, with smartphone displays and their associated components being the most expensive part of a phone, going bigger and cheaper just isn't a very logical move.

However, later in the day more reports on a cheap iPhone surfaced, this time from the more reliable Wall Street Journal, which claimed a cheaper iPhone would resemble the standard iPhone but use less expensive body components. That's a report that passes the sniff test.

Eric reminds investors that Apple is continuously testing new designs and ideas and the DIGITIMES report was likely erroneously mashing up two separate reports into one.
