Biotech Amarin is gearing up for the launch of its triglyceride-lowering drug Vascepa. The drug is slated to hit the market in the coming weeks and will go up against GlaxoSmithKline's Lovaza and AbbVie's drugs Tricor and Trilipix. Investors are waiting to see whether Vascepa can fulfill the blockbuster destiny many predict, or if the company will fall flat on its face. Many biotechs of late -- including obesity drugmaker VIVUS and cancer-focused biotech Dendreon -- have shown that launching a drug is much, much harder than it looks.
