Shutterfly Acquires Cloud-Based Photo and Video Organizer ThisLife

On Monday, online digital photo developer Shutterflyannounced that it has acquired cloud-based photo- and video-organizer ThisLife for an undisclosed sum. The company's founders, Andrea and Matt Johnson, will join Shutterfly.

When combined with its recent acquisitions of Photoccino and Penguin Digital, Shutterfly says adding ThisLife will help it to build a "next generation, fully integrated, platform agnostic solution for organizing, storing, sharing and creating physical and digital products from the web or mobile devices."

Financial details about ThisLife were not disclosed, nor was the purchase price. However, Shutterfly advised that it will share "additional details" about the purchase during its Q4 2012 earnings conference call, which is expected to take place February 1 .


Shares of Shutterfly are up 0.4% on the news, at $32.21.
