Hawaii Teacher Standards Board Enhances Online Licensing Application

HONOLULU--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- A release of a new version of Hawaii Teacher Standards Board's online application was deployed on November 5, 2012. The new version includes teacher applications for a Provisional license and the ability of current licensees to add teaching fields to their license. In addition, licensees who have a Provisional license may now apply for Standard license online and all licensees may save and print a PDF of their online application upon submitting it to HTSB. The web address is http://m.hi.gov/htsb.

Previously, the online application permitted licensees to renew standard license applications only. Other license types were available for application in the paper form only.

This application was created in partnership with Hawaii Information Consortium (the eHawaii.gov State portal and official website for the State of Hawaii).

About HTSB

In 1995 the State Legislature created the independent Hawaii Teacher Standards Board (HTSB) to set licensing standards for Hawaii public school teachers, school librarians and school counselors. Professional Educators must meet these standards in order to qualify for a Hawaii license. The mission is to collaboratively set high teacher licensing and credentialing standards to: provide every child with qualified teachers, promote professionalism and teaching excellence, build public confidence in the teaching profession, and provide more accountability to the public.
