Idle Worship maker shows it hand with Fresh Deck Poker on web, iOS

The creator of mega ambitious social game Idle Worship, Idle Games, has revealed its next move after its debut Facebook game didn't lift off very far and was forced to shutter. The developer has opted to try its hand at the casino/card game market with Fresh Deck Poker, a cross-platform poker game with top-notch visuals and continuous play across Facebook and iOS.

We're told that players can start a game of Fresh Deck Poker with their friends on Facebook, only to continue that same game on their iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. Considering that this is a poker game, after all, that's likely the most interesting innovation at play here, aside from those crisp graphics and highly stylized (if a tad goofy), big-headed characters.

Like most mobile social poker games, Fresh Deck Poker is free-to-play, but offers chips for in-app purchases and chips for free in a slots-like mini game that players take a spin at daily. While it's tough to do much that's new and exciting in the world of poker games, it looks like Idle Games has tried to step into the market with its best foot forward.

And it seems to have paid off: We're told that the poker simulator recently hit the number 2 spot in both the Card and Casino categories on the App Store. But see for yourself whether Fresh Deck Poker gives the rest a run for its money.
