Boeing Wins Apache Attack Helicopter Contracts
On Thursday, the U.S. Department of Defense announced a series of three contract awards to Boeing , worth a combined $129 million, all relating to the sale of Apache AH-64D attack helicopters to an unspecified foreign country (or countries).
The three contracts, all "firm-fixed-price" contracts "in support of Foreign Military Sales," modify existing contracts for the procurement of Block III Apache helicopters. The two smaller awards, for $39.6 million and $18.4 million, respectively, have estimated completion dates in 2013 -- September 30 and April 30, respectively. The larger award for $71 million will not be complete until October 31, 2017.
Shares of Boeing closed 0.5% higher Thursday, at $77.47, ahead of the contracts' announcement.
