Acquisition of Complete Genomics by Chinese Company Gets Green Light

California-based DNA sequencer Complete Genomicshas announced that China's BGI-Shenzhen has received clearance from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States to proceed with buying the company. This purchase, announced on Sept. 15, has been on hold pending approval from the interdepartmental government agency, which includes representatives from the departments of Treasury, Defense, State, Commerce, and Homeland Security.

Shares of Complete Genomics opened 0.6% higher Monday, at $3.15 per share, the same price BGI-Shenzhen bid in September.
