Updated

Netflix suffered a service outage for its streaming services on Christmas Eve, the company admitted in an official tweet. The cause was an outage at a cloud computing center operated by Amazon's eponymous Web Services unit, Reuters quoted Joris Evers, a Netflix spokesman, as saying.

The service interruption affected the company's streaming video customers throughout North America and Latin America. It lasted for about 7.5 hours starting in the afternoon of Dec. 24.
