NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Signature Bank (NAS: SBNY) , a New York-based full-service commercial bank, announced today that it ranked third on Forbes' list of the Best Banks in America. This marks Signature Bank's third consecutive appearance on the list, each time ranking in the top 10.

Forbes used eight metrics of financial health to rank banks nationwide, from data provided them by SNL Financial, including: return on average equity; net interest margin; nonperforming loans (NPLs) as a percentage of loans; nonperforming assets as percentage of assets; reserves as a percentage of NPLs; two capital ratios (Tier 1 and risk-based); and leverage ratio.
