Free Downloads on Windows Store & Google Play

DOVER, Del.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) with development assistance from Delaware.gov and Delaware Interactive recently launched a Spanish-language version of the Driver License Practice Test for Android and Windows Phone 7 users. Both versions can be downloaded at http://apps.delaware.gov. The DMV website also has the Spanish version of the test at http://www.dmv.de.gov. If the original version of the app has already been downloaded the language choice can be changed by updating your mobile device. The app will auto-detect the device's default language and make the switch automatically.

DMV Director Jennifer Cohan explained, "The DMV is constantly thinking of new ways to educate our customers. The Spanish-language Driver License Practice Test app is a testament to how the DMV responds to and anticipates the needs of a diverse clientele. We are grateful to have worked with the Government Information Center (GIC) to produce the product. Mobile Applications are the next level in providing quality customer service to Delaware drivers. It's my expectation that this will be just the first of many DMV mobile apps available in Spanish."

The Driver License Practice Test app is designed to provide the necessary foundation for novice drivers to meet their new responsibilities; it can also be used by existing driver license holders as a refresher on the rules of the road. The English version of the practice test debuted in 2011 as a free and convenient tool to prepare future drivers for the written test required to obtain a Delaware driver license. Driver instructors and students alike have praised the app. The mobile practice test has proven so popular with Delaware's Spanish-speaking community as a learning tool, that a Spanish translation was commissioned to support mobile platforms.

"We're committed to creating new and convenient eGovernment tools for Delaware," said Greg Hughes, Director of the Delaware GIC. "Governor Markell has directed us to look for ways to make government more efficient, effective and open; mobile apps and eGovernment tools will help us meet that goal."

This Spanish translation app is the first that Delaware Interactive has created for any Delaware State Agency. For those without access to mobile apps, an online version of the practice test in English or Spanish can be accessed through the DMV's website, www.dmv.de.gov.
