Newegg and AIG's Service Net Expand Extended Service Plan Offering

Repair and replacement plans offered for products purchased at any retailer

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Service Net, an AIG company, announced that it has expanded its relationship with Newegg Inc., the leading electronics-focused e-retailer in the United States, to offer extended service plans to Newegg customers who purchase products from other retail or e-tail stores. Previously, Newegg offered Service Net's extended service plans only to customers who purchased products directly from Newegg.

Service Net extended service plans give customers a quick and easy way to replace or repair damaged products. Newegg customers can search for available extended service plans by providing basic information such as the product type, price and purchase date. Competitive quotes on Service Net's extended service plans are then offered to the customer to select from and purchase.

"Newegg is committed to providing the best online shopping experience possible for our customers," said Merle McIntosh, senior vice president of product management at Newegg North America. "Service Net's new extended service plans provide additional value for our customers by giving them the option to purchase the protection they need for their electronics, regardless of where they were purchased."

Service Net's extended service plans include repair and accidental damage plans, along with replacement coverage plans for all electronic purchases, including TVs, mobile devices, personal computers, PC components and home appliances. Coverage begins from the date of product purchase for all plans with the exception of refurbished or major appliance products. For these types of products, coverage begins after the manufacturer's warranty ends.

"Newegg is a very customer centric organization, and we're pleased that they've chosen our warranty products and service solutions to extend the value proposition they offer to their customers," said Jim Mostofi, president of the U.S. Warranty Division of AIG.
