General Cable Announces the Promotion of Peter A. Campbell to Executive Vice President General Cable and Chief Executive Officer, Asia Pacific

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- General Cable Corporation (NYS: BGC) (the Company) is pleased to announce the promotion of Peter A. Campbell to Executive Vice President of General C able Corporation and Chief Executive Officer, Asia Pacific effective December 11, 2012. Today, the Company's Asia Pacific region includes operations and investments principally in Australia, China, Fiji, India, New Zealand, the Philippines, and Thailand that together represent more than $700 million in annual revenue, at current metal prices. Mr. Campbell is also responsible for the Company's investments in Oman and Pakistan.

Mr. Campbell joined General Cable more than two years ago as Senior Vice President, Asia and previously held management, manufacturing and engineering positions of increasing responsibilities with multi-national firms including Fosroc International and BP Chemicals. He has spent a significant part of his career living and working throughout the Asia Pacific region. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Phelps Dodge International (Thailand) Limited, PDTL Trading, Thai Copper Rod Company Limited and our joint ventures General Cable Oman and Phelps Dodge Yantai Cable Company. Peter resides in Thailand and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom.
