The Compensation Committee Boot Camp will be held January 24-25 in Miami, Florida.

The event will include a first-rate speaker line-up with many well-regarded industry leaders who will speak on topics such as investors' expectations regarding compensation, trends and fundamentals of effective CEO pay, communicating compensation strategy to investors and the media, and much more.

Boot Camp Speakers Include:

  • Veronica Biggins, Compensation Committee Member, Avnet Inc. and Southwest Airlines Co.

  • Stephen Brown, Director, Corporate Governance, TIAA-Cref

  • Janet Clarke, Compensation Committee Chair, Asbury Automotive Group

  • Mike Davis, Senior Vice President, Global Human Resources, General Mills

"Between say on pay and resulting litigation and an overall focus on pay packages and governance, the compensation committee is the hottest seat on the board right now. The goal of the Boot Camp is to provide participants a better understanding of their roles, responsibilities, and legal requirements in tackling executive compensation issues," said TK Kerstetter, chairman of Corporate Board Member. "Presented by the nation's most respected compensation information provider and the leading board education resource, we believe no other compensation event can deliver as robust an agenda to help directors and HR executives adequately evaluate and implement the most appropriate pay strategies."

The Compensation Committee Boot Camp will also feature peer collaboration sessions where attendees will gather in small peer groups for a unique opportunity to brainstorm, network, and share insights on critical issues around short- and long-term incentives and other key pay factors. Event sponsors include Meridian Compensation Partners, Pay Governance, Semler Brossy, and Compensation Advisory Partners. Upon conclusion of the event, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a live webinar on board compensation trends on February 13, 2013
