Umpqua Bank Selects Sonny Sonnenstein as EVP & Chief Information Officer

20-Year Technology Executive to Lead Umpqua Bank's Continued Focus on Customer Experience

PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Umpqua Bank, a subsidiary of Umpqua Holdings Corporation (NAS: UMPQ) , today announced that Sonny Sonnenstein had joined the company as EVP and Chief Information Officer, reporting to CFO Ron Farnsworth. Sonnenstein brings more than twenty years of financial services experience to the organization and will lead Umpqua's efforts to continue to innovate and enhance the customer experience.

Before joining Umpqua Bank, Sonnenstein was the SVP and Group CIO for Corporate Systems and Information Management at First Horizon in Memphis. His career also includes senior strategy and technology positions with Wachovia, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, LLC in the US and UK, and as a principal and co-founder of Core Technology Partners, LLC.

Sonnenstein holds an M.B.A. in Finance and Management Information Systems from the Johnson School at Cornell University, and a B.S. in Business Management and Marketing from Cornell University. He is also a former Certified Public Accountant.
