ChefVille 'Ginger and Ginger' Quests: Everything you need to know

Updated

Having trouble keeping enough Ginger on hand to cook ChefVille's new Christmas dishes? Ginger (the character) is here to help out with the launch of Ginger Crates. Similar to Pumpkin Hay Bales, these Ginger Crates can be tended only a few times before they disappear and need to be rebuilt. They've been released alongside two new quests called "Ginger and Ginger," so we're here with a guide to finish them off.

Crates Full of Tasty

  • Place and Staff the Ginger Crates

  • Tend Ginger Crates 3 Times

  • Have 6 Recommendations

The Ginger Crates are available to purchase from the store for 300 coins. After one is placed, it needs to be unwrapped using three energy. From there, you'll need to ask four friends to come work as "staff" within the Crate before you can actually use it. This is done via individual requests sent directly to your neighbors. Once that's done, you can harvest from the Ginger

Crate just three times before it vanishes, with each harvest available every two minutes. That makes this quest fly by after the initial construction process, and you'll receive one Asparagus and 10 XP for completing it. You'll also unlock the Elf Hat for your avatar, which can be purchased for 500 coins.

Tinsel and Ginger

  • Ask for 6 Sparkly Tinsel

  • Tend 3 Neighbors' Stacks of Presents

  • Cook 2 Foccacia

The Sparkly Tinsel can be earned by posting a general request to your news feed for help. That said, it's best to play ChefVille on Zynga.com long enough to ask for these items, as you'll earn them faster from strangers than from friends. As for the Foccacia, this dish is cooked on the Brick Oven using five Onions, one Pepper and two Dough each. It normally takes 16 hours to prepare, but since you only have to "Cook" the dish to count for this quest, you can just start the dish, cancel it, and then start it again to quickly finish this task in a matter of seconds, rather than days.

What do you think of these Ginger Crates? Should they be permanent, or do you think rebuilding one each time you need Ginger is a fair requirement? Sound off in the comments!
