A faulty generator has grounded another 787Dreamliner from Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA) after just delivering the plane to Qatar Airways. The defect is similar to one that forced a Dreamliner owned by United Continental Holdings Inc. (NYSE: UAL) to make an emergency landing in Houston last week. The Qatar Airways plane has ben grounded since Sunday and may remain so for another four days.

Qatar's CEO is not amused:

These problems are unacceptable because this aircraft has been flying for the last 14 months. They have to get their act together very fast because we at Qatar Airways will not accept any more defects. … Two aircraft having the same problem - the same major problem - so quickly is a cause of concern. Definitely we will demand compensation. We are not buying airplanes from them to put in a museum.

The 787 Dreamliner was three-and-a-half years late and billions over budget when the first commercial aircraft was delivered to Japan's All Nippon Airways late last year. The aircraft has had problems with the composite material used on the plane's skin, as well as engine issues and electrical problems.
