MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Interval International, a prominent worldwide provider of vacation services and an operating business of Interval Leisure Group (NAS: IILG) , announced the addition of Acanto Boutique Hotel in Mexico to its global vacation exchange network. It features 25 fractional villas in the cosmopolitan town of Playa del Carmen, just 35 miles south of Cancun. The luxury property was recognized with the 2012 TripAdvisor® Certificate of Excellence, which is awarded only to those establishments that have consistently achieved outstanding traveler reviews on its website.

"We're proud to partner with Matthew Schilowitz in his first venture into shared ownership. His residential and commercial real estate development experience spans more than a quarter century and the projects he has developed in the United States and Mexico are very impressive," said Marcos Agostini, Interval's senior vice president of resort sales and business development for Latin America.

"Our owners and guests will love this property's signature style, upscale amenities, and location in the heart of one of the most exciting vacation destinations in Mexico's Riviera Maya," said Matthew Schilowitz, Playa Hotel Operator, S.A. de C.V., owner and developer of the Acanto Boutique Hotel.

Designed by award-winning architect, Sergio Segura, the gated hacienda-style hotel is built around a center courtyard with a swimming pool and sundeck. Interiors were created by Casona Interior Design and incorporate high-end appointments and finishes with warm colors and Spanish accents. A rooftop terrace offers spectacular views of the town and Caribbean Sea.

Spacious units include a living room, full kitchen with custom wood cabinetry, stainless steel Bosch appliances and granite countertops, marble bathrooms, ample balconies or terraces, and state-of-the-art electronics. WiFi high-speed Internet access is available throughout the hotel.

Among the onsite amenities are a café, a wine bar, underground parking, and there are many attractions nearby in Playa del Carmen, such as a beautiful beach, shopping, dining, and nightlife on bustling 5th Avenue. The hotel also can arrange diving and snorkeling trips, and tours to Mayan ruins, including nearby Tulum, Chetumal, Coba, and Chichen Itza.
