Samuel "Sonny" Gourley Joins Marcus Theatres® as Vice President of Film

Industry executive brings extensive knowledge and insight to film department

MILWAUKEE--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Marcus Theatres®, a division of The Marcus Corporation (NYS: MCS) , today announced that Samuel "Sonny" Gourley has joined the company as vice president of film. Gourley, a Los Angeles resident, will establish a West Coast office for Marcus Theatres.

Gourley's career spans nearly four decades in the film exhibition industry. "His industry stature, extensive knowledge gained through his long career as film buyer for AMC and the relationships he's established will be a valuable asset for Marcus Theatres," said Bruce J. Olson, president of Marcus Theatres.

Prior to joining Marcus Theatres, Gourley served AMC Entertainment, Inc. for over 37 years, most recently as president of film programming. In that position, he oversaw all aspects of film programming, including coverage, content and cost, while focusing on enhancing the entertainment experience for the AMC brand. Gourley's experience at AMC also includes serving as executive vice president of film marketing and as head film buyer for the company on a national level.

Gourley is a member of Variety - The Children's Charity Advisory Board and the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation Board of Directors. His industry recognition includes ShowEast Hall of Fame Inductee 2012, Variety Club - The Children's Charity Heart of Show Business Award 2012, ShowEast Humanitarian of the Year 2009, and County of Los Angeles Commendation Awards 2003-2010.
