Office Depot Relocates Store in Costa Mesa with Entirely New Concept Designed by Customers, for Customers

COSTA MESA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Office Depot® (NYS: ODP) has built an entirely new store experience for its customers and is celebrating its opening in Costa Mesa, Calif. The Office Depot store formerly located at 2200 Harbor Blvd. has relocated to 2300 Harbor Blvd. Suite E-1 with a new concept created to encourage shoppers to interact more with products, with Office Depot associates, and with each other - all in a brand new store designed around the way customers want to shop.

The new Office Depot store goes way beyond mere cosmetic changes. The storefront windows feature graphic overlays which allow people to see inside the store from the sidewalk.

Once inside, consumers are welcomed to the new bluwire store-within-a-store featuring the coolest tech and mobility products such as cases for iPhone® 5, accessories for iPad® and MacBook®, Beats© by Dre headphones, and wireless speakers - with the vast majority of these products being new to Office Depot. bluwire is best known for its highly successful tech and mobility products offered in select airports around the country.

In fact, the new Costa Mesa Office Depot store features a PC Bar where people can sit down, plug in their laptop or tablet and get to work. There is also a computer rental station, free Wi-Fi throughout the store, a recharge station, and free, self-serve coffee available between the hours of 8 a.m. - 10 a.m., and 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. on weekdays.

Interactivity is one of the key features of the new concept with several touch screen displays throughout the store where consumers can order any product from OfficeDepot.com if they are unable to find it on store shelves. And best of all, delivery is free.¹ It is not just in Costa Mesa either. If customers are unable to find what they are looking for while shopping in any of Office Depot's 1,100 retail stores, they can purchase it online with the assistance of an in-store sales associate and it will be shipped for free.

A full offering of business services are in the center - at the heart - of this new store. The Print Shop provides same-day business cards, copying, document shredding, custom printing, and packing and shipping, making Office Depot a virtual back office for small business.

Office Depot's Tech Shop provides computer repair, network set-up, software installation, virus removal and more.

The Costa Mesa Office Depot Store #3298 houses nearly 4,500 products - everything from furniture and office supplies to technology.

Fernando Alcantar, Store Manager of Office Depot store #3298, was raised in Costa Mesa, and now resides nearby in Anaheim. He has managed this location for the past five years of his 10-year career with Office Depot.
